This is probably because YouTube has switched from Flash to HTML5 for the video display.

Removing and saving audio can be done with (Preview) a native app in OS X. Convert video formant with Miro Video Converter or MPEG StreamClip all for free. I’ve never found the need to down load more than one video at a time, but I admit, that’s a great option.
