I (thankfully) don’t have that complicated of a schedule/life that I found the need for Mail Act-On, but it looks pretty cool as well for those who do.

Apart from that I agree for the most parts to the reviews.

Default Folder. Totally agree. It has followed me since it was version 1.somthing. And it has never been better. I use the MetaTags rather than the Spotlight tags as I find it better suits Tags (http://gravityapps.com/tags/), which is one of my favorite Tagging application.

I have used Quicksilver for many years and it’s still live and kicking, but in the light of this review I am going to give Alfred a second chance and bought me a family licence. Time will tell… maybe I’ll simply use both of them.

Another application or rather a plug in for Mail I feel worth mentioning is MailTags and Mail Act-On. Actually I use Mail Act-On more but it relies on some features of MailTags to work the way I want to. I use this mostly to color and mark as flagged or mark as unflagged my mail to keep track of important mail which is flying by.

While everyone is praising Evernote I have relied on Devon Think Pro for keeping notes and stuff but I am lately leaning to Notational Velocity (http://notational.net/) with its neat syncing to SimpleNote (http://simplenoteapp.com/)

Well, I have to admit I am a sucker for all kinds of applications big and small.

A few in my aresenal that I use everyday
Skitch – you’re right, it’s awesome.
LaunchBar – another application launcher. I’m curious how Alfred is better or different.
TextMate – a kick @ss text editor
Firefox – Safari is nice and Chrome is possibly quicker but I really like the Firefox integration with my favorite research tool. Diigo.

Some of those Finder add-ons look really cool I’ll have to check them out too.

And to the point, I haven’t understood the way to include your site feed in my rss subscriber, where is the link to the RSS? Many thanks

Shareware used everyday becomes part of the OS system. When I switched over from OS 9, to 10; the first app I was hoping would run on 10 was Snap z. It was great in OS9 and even today. I also was looking for “Window Shade” by Unsanity. It works in OS 10.6 (don’t have to minimize). I miss Iclip (works on 10.5, but not 10.6) as a clip board. The only other program I wish would run on 10 was a simple program called Type Twister. It was a nice program for making artistic or fancy Fonts. A nice combo program with Appleworks/Clarisworks. Nothing on the market like it today. The last program I would recommend is a neat program for Kids/Grownups. Kid Pix or Kid Pix 3D. I made a 20 minute movie (fantasy story) for my grand kids. You can add movie clips, slides to a cartoon background. Anyway nice article.

Really enjoyed reading it. I now have a couple of new apps added to my collection. Keep up the great work as your site is one of my favorites.

But I’ve seen so many screen capture apps come and go, many more force you into some sort of paid subscription plan to store your snaps online (which I don’t want or need), and still more who simply don’t offer anything more than the built-in screen capture feature beyond having an icon in the menubar or an annoying overlay on the screen all the time.

I’ve just not come across a suitable replacement.

Its simple interface has lots of options for capturing and saving screenshots. When it’s time to grab video, out comes Snapz Pro X. http://www.yellowmug.com/snapndrag/
