SO efficient, re-downloading that 2GB files for 4-5 different pieces of hardware.

I live on the most southeastern area in the continental US, have very modest internet, yet my apple iOS updates are always trivial since 1.0 forward. Could it be a DNS issue maybe? I use openDNS instead of Comcast. I wonder if Apple use Akamai for iOS CDN? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akamai_Technologies

ANY other service runs smooth as silk. But Apple’s update servers (particularly whichever ones run the iOS updates) are notoriously slow.

I have low end Comcast Performance internet 25/5 and iOS updates are really no big deal. Download, install, reboot, done.

Keeping the phone awake is easy, just disable lock screen. Although I never bothered to do so while updating OTA and it wasn’t a problem.

Easy peasy. Not sure why such a 1st world problem rant.

I have extremely fast download times, but any updates that come from Apple remind of the days when you only had access to dial up connections. Painful coming from a company that has money and people that could certainly fix this.
