I came across this tutorial on Matte Painting the other day while randomly surfing and thought it was just incredible Photoshop work. While it is considered a “tutorial,” I find it to be just a “look what you can do” type of page. The author takes you through the steps he used to turn an ordinary photo of an old home and turn it into a haunted house.

The detail in the new photo, while quite involved, isn't that hard to achieve with a little patience and creativity. It also doesn't hurt to start with a great photo.
